Dr. Agrawal is truly changing lives. He helped my son through oral immunotherapy for peanut. My son used to have anaphylaxis with just one bite of peanut. Now 3 years later, he is on maintenance with 6 peanuts. He is cleared for cross contamination. He is able to play baseball, eat at a regular lunch table, ride the bus, sleepover at a friend’s house, go to parties, and celebrate holidays without the worries of a severe peanut reaction. When you are told that your child has a life threatening condition (in my son’s case...a life threatening peanut allergy), you are left staring at the allergist with a lump in your throat, your heart in your stomach and the air...all but removed from the room.
Your mind races with fear, uncertainty and questions. What can you do for your child? How can you take this away?
You are left wishing you could remove this curse from their body and take it on as your own.
