On Thursday afternoon, I choked on something and soon after developed a fever, fatigue, body aches, and severe head pain. By Friday, I went to urgent care, where a nurse stood outside the room laughing with coworkers about the fact that I thought I was choking. I was sent home with no explanation and told I was “fine.”
