I originally chose this school because it was a family-owned business, and I’ve stayed impressed by the open communication, mutual respect, and steady, orderly pace of instruction. The black belt instructors are professional, attentive, and clearly believe in the art they teach.
It’s also been a great balance of social connection, fun, discipline, and strength training. Some practices are fun, some are tough, but there is patience and structure through both. That kind of care in developing a beginner is worth recognizing.
The only thing that almost cost them a star? Those metal folding chairs for the adults. Otherwise, the viewing area is great, snacks and water are available, and the location near downtown is a plus.”
