Fort Valley Health and Rehab is a welcoming and well-regarded facility in the local community. The staff is courteous, attentive, and dedicated to the well-being of residents. The facility is clean and maintained, creating a homelike atmosphere. The new administrator is actively engaged in ensuring the best possible care and experience for both residents and staff.
Fort Valley Health and Rehab may be an older facility that could benefit from some interior updates and building improvements, but one thing that consistently stands out is how well the exterior and grounds are maintained. The landscaping is always neat and cared for, with shrubs regularly trimmed and groomed, giving the property a welcoming and pleasant appearance. The parking lot and sidewalks are kept clean and free of debris, which shows attention to detail and pride in the facility’s upkeep. My brother stayed in FVHR for 5 months, coming in with a serious health condition and being extremely underweight. The staff was attentive to his needs and worked hard to bring my brother back from the brink.
While the facility and furnishings are dated, what was most important to me was the cleanliness, the attention provided to my brother by the staff, the homey feel, and the fact that any time I visited the interior smelled clean, not antiseptic.
I would suggest that, if and when possible, there be daily and weekly opportunities for residents to sit outside in the fresh air and sunshine. I believe this would improve their mental and physical well-being.
This place feels like home. I have lived in Fort Valley most of my life and I've heard some good things about this place and some not so great things.But I recently visited a family member here and I was actually impressed. The staff was courteous, the facility was clean, and it just felt like home. If you are considering this place for your family, get a feel for yourself!
