❌ Have to make appointments with Primary Care Provider 6 months in advanced......
I don't know what my schedule might be a week from now, but sure, let me make an appointment and hope I don't miss it otherwise it'll be rescheduled for another 6 months (one year waiting)

❌ Go to V.A. Clinic 10 minutes from my house for walk-in. Wait 2 hours in lobby, get told they can't even examine you since they're not your Primary Provider..... so you waited for nothing

Negligent Care, Dismissive Provider, Referral Removed During Mental Health Crisis

I am a recently retired military veteran, and what I experienced at this clinic on April 17, 2026 (Friday) was one of the most frightening and degrading medical encounters of my life — during an active mental health crisis.
I had been trying to get a referral since January 7 via secure message. When I finally reached my appointment months later, I was greeted not with care but with contempt.

If I could carry my Dr and her nurse with me to a different VA I would never step foot in the Ft Benning VA ever again.

The front two ladies are always polite, my PCM is fantastic (best I’ve ever had in the VA) and her nurse is awesome too BUT the “nurses” running the window for walk-in hours are always rude, making you feel like as a PT you’re bothering them to do their job, eye rolling
