I have worked in home health care for a long time (always for a competitor) so I know a fair bit about how it should go. But recently I experienced home health from the other side when my mom needed care. Everything went really smoothly especially considering that we have a massive nursing shortage in the US right now. Most people don’t realize that when there is a service failure, it is usually because even when everything is done right, there just aren’t enough nurses to meet the need. My wife was referred for wound care and therapy to this firm. The wound care was prescribed every other day. The wound care was scheduled for Wednesday. The afternoon before I received a call saying ...sorry...some staff " called out and because of the holiday weekend" we can't change the wound. " The Supervisor called and said they would try to find someone to assist my wife. They called back and recommended a different home health care. Ultimately, my wife had to return to the hospital for wound care on Thursday. The recommend 2nd company has worked our well...coming on Saturday to change the wound. We had our first nurse consultation before starting PT with my grandmother today and I am very pleased with this company so far. Their employees went above and beyond to contact us (which was way harder for them then it should have been) and our nurse today was great about communicating when she would be coming and everything we could expect. I definitely recommend them.
