My dog has been a patient of Dr. Gholston’s since he started at Sawnee. He is very patient and knowledgeable and always willing to answer my many questions. Jax has a chronic condition so I appreciated his thoroughness when seeing my old man. Today I took Jax in for another senior checkup and was surprised to see another change of vet. However, I was impressed by how sweet Dr. Hawkins was. Though I somehow missed the memo of provider changes, I am happy to give Dr. Hawkins a chance! Jax enjoyed her as well.
On our regular annual exam we were shocked when Dr Gholston came in and informed us that Toby had a tumor on his spleen. He said he found it when he was using an ultrasound to get a catheter for his urine specimen since he had just peed on the way into the office. Had it not been for his keen eye we would have not known about this serious issue until it was too late. We elected to have him perform a splenectomy to save our dogs life. We could not have asked for a more caring Doctor or staff through this trying time. The surgery was a complete success and the tumor was removed and pathology was it was not malignant.
