    We have had several good experiences with Coal Mountain Animal Hospital over the last two years. However, this week’s experience truly stands out. We had an emergency situation with our Frenchie that took him from a healthy playful pup to being unable to walk overnight. We took him straight to Coal Mountain Animal Hospital on a Monday morning after multiple misdiagnosis at emergency clinics over the weekend. Dr Heart’s educated and thorough evaluation of Sharky revealed an emergency situation that required a neurological specialist and immediate intervention. She was able to send us to an amazing specialist who saved Sharky and fully restored his neurological function following emergency back surgery. We are so grateful for Dr Heart and the technician who initially saw Sharky and participated in the evaluation. They were a great team and clearly care for the families and the animals they work with. They were knowledgeable, resourceful, caring and financially conscious. Sharky is our beloved 4 year old French Bulldog who is more than just a pet in our home; he is a prized member of our family who brings smiles to everyone he meets. God bless you, Dr Heart and team!! You have no idea how much we appreciate you!!

    Truly the best vet I have ever been to. My family has had many dogs and more vet visits than we can count, but Coal Mountain Animal Hospital is by far the best. They are thorough in testing and explaining everything to me and they are so good with my dogs. 1000% recommend.

    Excellent veterinary service. The boarding area is too small, and it is difficult to get a reservation.

    My dog was so sick and they tried to help her but she passed away with me at home. I just wish the Vet that helped us would have called me to say something, Anything. The care was very good but as a nurse I understand empathy

    Dr. Hartsfield and Dr. Serber, are caring hearts with a mind for healing. Dr. Hartsfield, as the owner of the practice takes a hands on approach when she does not have too. I would also like to give a shout out to Abby for being a consummate pro. We are blessed to have our newest member of our team, Ms. Willow, to be on board with CMAH. Thanks again!

    Went in for annual vaccines... always friendly staff... been using them for years... never had any problems!!

    Do not Euthanize a Dog for an Owners convenience. Money isn't worth taking an innocent Life.

    we were just picking up our flea and tick medicine. it was ready I didn't have to wait. I have not had any issues with coal mountain myself as others have stated in their reviews. we have used them for over 15 years for multiple family pets.

    I've had good service with the vets BUT you need to very carefully watch the invoice. Two months ago I had one one of my four dogs go through a procedure and we went through the estimate beforehand. At checkout, they showed that we declined some of the services but still charged me the extra $200 anyway. I didn't notice until I got home and had to call and ask them why they charged me for services we didn't use. They end up giving us a refund. Then I took my second dog last month for routine services. All was fine until this month when I took in dog #3 for an infection. It was not time for his yearly shots or exam. The bill seemed really high but my dog wanted out of there and I didn't check the invoice until the next day. That's when I realized they RE-CHARGED me $150 for dog #2. These were charges I had already paid for on a completely different dog in a completely different month. The invoice shows the dog by name and shows a different date of service but they charged me twice. I called to ask them what is going on and they said this time they'll have to call me back. I've let them know I am NOT paying a second time for something I've already paid for and that the invoice clearly shows a different dog and a different date of service and that dog #3 isn't even available for those shots yet. Still waiting for them to call back and let me know how they plan to give me the $150 refund.

    I highly recommend watching your invoice and at this point, it feels intentional that they are just trying to take your money. I'll be looking for another vet.
