Never have used Polk Veterinarian and I needed my female dog Honey spayed, I called and asked several questions about the process and cost. I had all questions answered in depth and set an appointment. The front desk attendant was nothing short of amazing. I'm disabled so she gave me a window period to accommodate my family's work schedule. She came from behind the desk and sat down with us, to gain Honey's trust eventhough she was making a low growl. I was encouraged to call whenever I felt to check on on her, I was also informed that I could let her stay an extra day to make things easier for me. and my family. I cannot say enough good about Polk Vet Care. My pup was in a fight on Wednesday and showed progressive signs of infection, including swelling in his legs, which kept him from being able to walk. I called them Friday morning, they didn’t have any appointments available but she told me to bring him and drop him off; they would work him in between appointments. They did just that!! They got him all cleaned up and got him some meds. He was home by 2:45 that same day and getting back to himself. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such great care of our baby!
After having some bad experiences with the other local vets, we wanted to see how the experience with Dr. Hughes would be. Now, he's our regular veterinarian and I've always been pleased with the care our animals have received and the service from his staff. Some of the negative reviews on here are unfair, and I just want to throw my opinion on here that I trust them completely with the care of our animals and you should also.
