Arlene's Alterations

We have taken many items to Ms Arlene and have never been displeased with her work and the cost of her tailoring. My husband has many designer suits, blazers and shirts. We trust every items to Ms. Arlene's skill. Recently, we took a Ralph Lauren Purple Label suit to Ms. Arlene. We assumed the jacket was a loss since there was a small, but obvious hole in the back. Miraculously, she was able to take fabric from the sides and bring the back in enough to cut out the hole. I was truly amazed at the work and how affordable the alterations were. We could go on and on about her work but I have suggested Ms. Arlene to many friends and that speaks volumes. Be patient, good work isn't fast and fast work is cheap. The only issue is the location of her shop on Newcastle Street. If you're not looking you'll pass right by. Parking is ample on the side of the building if you can not fit at the front.

I went to another alterations place before being referred to Arlenes. The other place quoted me 300-500 to do simple alterations on my wedding dress. A local shop referred me to Arlenes and she took my dress with no issue. Since she is the only good and reliable (and cost friendly) alterations place in town, she is always busy but I promise you she will always get you your things on time. Just call to check in periodically, she does everything on her own, no help. She made my wedding dress BEAUTIFUL. The craziest part of all, she charged me $55. My mind was blown, I went back the next day and gave her $100. I am so thankful for her. She was so kind and sweet and on top of her busy schedule she took the time to make sure I felt beautiful. I am forever grateful. Thank you, Arlene!

arlene took a big challenge (a captain marvel suit that didn't quite fight right) and made it into something i am proud to wear! she was efficient and communicated well as well as being an utter professional. she did an amazing job and if i ever need anything altered again i know where i'm going!
