I’ve never written a dental review before, but Athens Family Dental—and more specifically, Dr. Alex and her hygienist Emily—deserve one.

First, the technology. They’ve upgraded the entire experience. No more jaw-breaking contortions just to get an x-ray or cleaning. They use a small, handheld wand to scan teeth with incredible precision, and a new device (called something “Lite”) that gently holds your mouth open during procedures. It’s painless, comfortable, and light-years ahead of the usual approach. This is dentistry without the dread.

Dr. Alex (yes, she goes by her first name, and yes, she’s earned that level of cool) is sharp, compassionate, and deeply skilled. Hygienist Emily—red-haired, warm, and just as smart—is the kind of professional who puts you at ease the moment she starts talking. They’re a powerhouse team: personable, highly competent, and genuinely kind.

The office is spotless, beautifully run, and clearly built with patient comfort in mind.

I’m deeply impressed—and grateful to have found a place that blends heart, brains, and cutting-edge care. Highly recommend.
