I have been going to Adell's for almost 2 yrs and I love the atmosphere of this salon. Nia is the ABSOLUTE BEST, I initially scheduled w/ her for a re-twist and she gently delivered the bad news that it was best that I restart my loc journey.

Nia combed out my starter locs and gave me a fresh start. I loved the size and parting much better than the previous set. After that we were 'loc'ked in and I know I'm going to get amazing service with each booking! I highly recommend Nia at Adell's Natural Hair Salon.

Don’t book with Alexsys. She was unprofessional, late, and I did not receive what was discussed and then was rushed out the door.

I am a young adult writing this review who had expectations for my visit to Adell's "Natural" Salon after the professional and considerate communication from the owner herself. She even offered to personally do my hair, but as she's only available on weekends, I understood and was referred to another stylist she trusted, Alexsys. Alexsys required a $25 deposit, which seemed fair and was credited toward my service. I originally had my appointment for 12 pm but the night before, Alexsys asked if she could move it to 1:30pm since she was going to be behind with her other client. I agreed to the 1:30pm appointment.

However, my actual salon experience was disappointing . Upon arrival, a woman walked me in and directed me to sit at the sink. When I asked if she was Alexsys, she confirmed, I then greeted her, but received no response. I was there for a demi dye, loc retwist, and style. Prior to service she told me it would be a total of $200.

During the dye process, I noticed that she missed three locs. It took her about 40 minutes to return to me, since she had another client and another 20 minutes to address the missed locs and let them sit with dye. When she finally came back to wash and rinse my hair, everything was well until I sat up from the sink to find the back of my shirt drenched from my neck to mid-back with warm water, triggering me as I hate wet clothes.

I sat in the chair for another 30 minutes with cold water dripping down my back and face before she returned to style my hair, without offering extra towels, a dryer, or even an apology. I felt like crying from the rage I felt, especially as I believe I was treated differently because of my age, as I doubt Alexsys would have left a 30 or 40-year-old with their back drenched in water.

After finally finishing with her other client, Alexsys began working on my hair. While the retwisting went well, the styling was disappointing . I had asked for a bob style with two strands, where all pieces of hair should stop at the same length. Despite assuring me she could achieve this style prior to my appointment, it became apparent that she wasnt doing the loc knots correctly. I’ve had a loc bob before, so I know the process of how it’s supposed to be done…when I looked, I saw that Alexsys was just two-stranding my hair back.

I went to the bathroom to see what she was doing and saw that my hair was uneven and the twists were LOOSE, see-through, and sloppy. When I returned, I asked her to redo the twist, by then, I knew I wouldn't get the desired “bob” look I was going for. Despite being there since 1:30pm and it already being 6pm ,I accepted this and just wanted to leave. Alexsys then made a comment on how my hair is “thicker and just needed some more arm into it”. I laughed because I hear this ALL the time. She proceeded to do my hair without saying anything else about it.

At checkout, I was presented with a total of $200, which I paid, assuming my deposit was included. I tipped $10 despite of my experience. However, upon checking my bank account, I discovered I had been charged $210 and an additional $25 for the deposit, totaling $235. This contradicted what Alexsys had told me prior, that my total would be an even $200 for ALL three services, including the deposit fee.

When I texted Alexsys about the overcharge, she explained that an additional $15 was added for a "density" fee based on the thickness of my hair.. This was never mentioned beforehand to me DIRECTLY during my appointment OR at PAYMENT! She only sent $10 back. I had never heard of such nonsense! It's extremely disappointing to be CHARGED EXTRA for having thick and NATURAL hair. I understand that these newer “stylist” have their own policies but please DON’T CONSIDER THIS A “natural” salon when I’m being charged for not having brittle, thinning, and damaged locs LOL! And if you’re going to charge a “density” fee, at least let the client know

I scheduled an appointment for my daughter who wanted color and silk press. Alexsys call the night before and said she had to get supplies can we meet at 12. Got there at 12 call and she said she will be there in a few minutes. 15 minutes later. Call and she said I am have trouble getting an Uber. We had a party to go to after so I ask how long. She said 35 minutes. 40 minutes later she said I am at the light. 15 minutes later can I reschedule the Uber took a wrong turn an it will take 20 more minutes. Left after that with an upset and disappointed teen. My only reason for waiting that long. Had to go home almost and hour and a half later and do her hair myself in one puff. Monday ask for a refund on my deposit. Friday still no response. Will call my bank to dispute.

Alexsys Elie did an amazing job styling my hair. I got a wash and blow dry plus crochet faux locs. She was very gentle with my natural hair when washing it and blow drying it. The crochet style did not take long to do at all and came out looking great!

Alexsys saved me from big chopping AGAIN. She was gentle. Up front with what needed to be done to my hair. Informative when it came to post appointment care and products. Will definitely be back.

Their dry and itchy scalp treatment is a joke. I asked the stylist is that it? All she did was take an ordinary scalp brush and a eucalyptus shampoo and didn’t even get to my scalp!! The style wasn’t modern at all and because of whatever change is happening at the shop I guess there’s a lot less care because I did not leave with my scalp oiled or treated after the blow dry.
