While on a solo vacation in Florida I had a stroke. I arrived at Encompass following 8 days in the hospital. My care was absolutely top notch. All of the staff - therapists, docs, nurses, techs, caseworker, dietician and even custodians - were caring and I felt like there was a team supporting me. Facility was clean and bright. Were there a few bumps along the way? Sure! But things were always resolved quickly and I felt they put patients’ needs first. I was discharged after 8 days with all the tools I needed to succeed at home.They set the bar high and I have yet to experience such excellence now that I am home with a new team of therapists. Transferred here for rehab for ataxia. Within 3 hours, was so sick I couldn't hold my head up. Doctors immediately ran tests and discovered the hospital sent me to rehab in kidney failure! If the doctors had not been concerned, I would be getting dialysis now.
Doctors and staff are awesome; they visit every day, stay in great communication with each other and the patient; and they bent over backwards for me. Even the head of dietary visited a number of times. Food is average, like most facilities, but they go out of their way to feed you things you want.

My husband was there for 12 days and he was given exemplary care. The front entrance desk is warm and welcoming, the PT’s and OT’s were hands on, professional and empathetic! All the nurses were accommodating and helpful! Having a one on one case manager helped tremendously!
