I had a really good barber, Patrick, who was able to recreate a hairstyle from the picture I showed him. He was fast, efficient and friendly. While I enjoyed the experience I was confused when he charged me $40. I understand from friends who go to Cals that they typically get charged $20 for a haircut. I admit that I haven’t been to a barber in over 15 years so I may be experiencing the inflationary influence of that much time, otherwise I may have rated Cals 5 stars.

I had Mike cut my hair. I told him number 2 on the sides and back along with about inch taken off the top. Mostly he started doing good. He failed miserably when I asked him to bring it in closer on the side so it would flat more. He started in the right area but then moved up just above where I wanted it cut shorter. He excuse was some crap about the comb moving the hair up before he cuts it. For the about of movement for no.2 on the sides, I knew that was BS. He asked about how it looked and what I wanted next, I was just silent. It didn't seem to make a difference in what I had to say. Then he offered to use no.3 to cut it shorter. I said ok, wondering how far he'd get using a bigger clip to cut shorter. I caved to end this BS and said it looked better knowing it didn't. I ended up just paying him the $20. Usually I get at least decent service from Cal's and tip good. Not this time. I'm grateful for those Mike serviced well. I wasn't given the same courtesy. At the time he cared more about pranking his co worker by hiding her cupcakes. I could have complained right there, but this here is the perfect spot. Sorry Cal, it's Mike's fault for his ignorance.

So this one star review isn’t because of the barbers, they always are very polite and do a great job on my hair. This review is because of the woman who sit at the front deck. Today I called because I had a window to get my haircut on my lunch break. Lady answers the phone sounding like she woke up on the wrong side of the bed not helpful whatsoever. We then find a gentleman who’s available today on my break at 12. So I drive over on my lunch break just be told that I was written down for tomorrow at 12 not today even though we looked and agreed for todays date for appointment on the phone. Obviously this woman has no sense of what day it is and doesn’t care about customers. She comes over and confirms that was her that wrote it down and not a single apology from her. Just like “oh yea that was me who wrote that in” guy who was not at fault what’s was very apologetic and tried to fit me in at a later time today. So this review doesn’t reflect the barbers just the woman who sits at the front and doesn’t care about doing who Job correctly.

Worst experience! I had the most unprofessional highlights I have ever had in my life! I asked for ash I got a good skin streak right down the middle of my head! Then she put lowlights in to fix the color, I walked out and tried to talk to the Manager Debbie and she said it looked fine while I was walking out! Never let me send photos, I truly upset and won’t set foot in that place… bad customer service and horrible hair color
