As a long time customer of Maggie’s, I have always had a fantastic experience when getting a blowout and hair care treatment here. The hair stylists always make me feel welcomed and comfortable. The stylists always take great care with my hair with a stellar wash and conditioning service that keeps my long, thick and curly hair incredibly healthy and nourished. The blowout service is also flawless, leaving my hair smooth, shiny, and full of body without feeling weighed down. It’s clear they truly care about both the health and look of your hair as my natural curl pattern remains intact. I highly recommend Maggie’s hair salon for anyone wanting expert care and beautiful results!

Absolutely devastated by what this salon did to my daughter’s hair. We trusted them to care for her natural curls, but instead they used extreme heat and/or harsh chemicals without proper consent or communication, completely ruining her natural texture.

What was once beautiful, healthy, coily hair is now permanently damaged limp, brittle, and uneven. The stylist showed no concern and offered no explanation or solutions, just excuses.

This is not just a bad experience!! it’s negligence.

Naomi was kind and did a good job with blow dry but in 20 years I never had to pay 95 for just a blow dry medium length hair. I have always paid at other salons in Tampa 25, 35, 45 plus tip and 85 for roots touch up. I was in total shock when she told me the price. I had a clean blow dryer hair but my pocket book was crushed I paid double then what I am used to paying. If her prices were more reasonable especially with how the market is I would have made her my hair dresser and been there every week for a blow dry etc 🙄 🙃 😒

The silk press was cute but I got the craziest heat damage, she didn’t use any heat protectant (which I am now realizing). My hair is 4C and went past my shoulders but now unfortunately I have to cut it to my ears. This was my first silk press and I’m really disappointed.

The hairstylist Juanita is a user. I called asking if she can retighten my weaving, wash and style my hair. She did not retighten my hair saying that I needed to take out all my braids and redo it. I’ve had this hairstyle many times before and I never had to do that. I made another appointment for Sunday at 1pm so she can do what I originally paid her to do. When I get there she says she cannot do my hair she has three other people. She stole $90 from me and couldn’t even do what I needed

I had very long hair that I was planning to donate next summer and was in need of a trim to get rid of the dead ends and keep my hair healthy for donation time. Maggie’s was on my way home from work and I was able to book online, so I scheduled a woman’s haircut that had a price range of $35-$40 and even claimed there was a sale going on.

When I arrived I explicitly told the stylist of my hair donation plans and to “only take off as much length as needed to remove the dead ends, because I’m growing my hair out to donate” she asked if I wanted My hair washed and I said whatever is included in the haircut service I booked online so she waved me over to wash my hair. While washing she put a plastic bag over my hair and had me walk over to a heater while she serviced another client. I was not told or asked what service was done- again this was my first time to this salon so was not sure what their process is.

She proceeded to cut my hair then blow dry. She did some method where she finger rolled my ends, clipped them, and blow dried creating a curl effect. After my hair was styled, it did look very good, but much more length was taken off then I wanted. When I went to check out I was Shocked when I was rung up $130 for a haircut… she said because of the conditioning treatment and curls neither of which I even asked for!! I was Charged $100 more than when I booked for services I never requested.

Additionally, once I go home and the style she did fell, I realized how much length she took off. She probably removed a years worth of growth and I will no longer be able to donate this summer. The layers she gave me are very blunt and awkward which were hidden with the curls she gave me. I now have to make sure my hair is curled to hide the bad layers I was given and will not be able to straighten my hair for several months until it grows out.

A haircut should be very simple, but I was charged $130, extremely displeased with the result, and worst of all, I will need to wait a whole year before I can donate.
