No Issues here. Went to my appointment scheduled every year get everything done (only waited 20 minutes before being seen); went through the whole exam process... Then go down the parking lot to contracted eye glass shop and get fitted for my new glasses... quick and easy... new pair of glasses arrive a week or two later in the mail. Very happy with the service and have no real issues here.
My rating of 5 stars is actually for the new Lakeland VA Eye Clinic, which I highly recommend for anyone living anywhere nearby. Brand new facility, friendly helpful staff. And as of today no crowds awaiting care. Only drawback so far is no eyeglass vendor, so still have to go to the Temple Terrace VA vendor for glasses selection. They expect the vendor sometime soon, just not yet.
Obtaining an eye exam is essential for your prescription before choosing eyeglass frames. I initially called for an appointment in 2023 but was rescheduled to March 2024, which was later canceled. After rescheduling, my new appointment was pushed to November 2024. Upon arrival, I was informed of overbooking and had to reschedule for 2025. After confirming my February 2025 appointment, it was canceled again due to overbooking. It took me two years to finally get my prescription. I reached out to various Veterans Medical professionals to find appointments covered by Veterans Benefits outside the often overbooked Veterans Eye Clinic.
