About Koenig Martial Arts
Koenig Martial Arts offers traditional Shotokan Karate classes for kids and adults. The dojo provides a variety of programs, including Tiny Tigers classes for younger children, family classes, and women's self-defense classes. Sensei Koenig is highly experienced and dedicated to his students. His calm and patient demeanor helps both beginner and advanced students learn effectively. He emphasizes respect, confidence building, and the mental aspects of Karate, along with physical training. Students enjoy kumite classes, board breaking, and summer camps. The dojo has a proven track record of success, with students becoming AAU Karate National Champions in 2021, 2022, and 2023. In addition to Shotokan Karate, Koenig Martial Arts offers programs in traditional Okinawan weapons and self-defense. We absolutely love Koenig Martial Arts! Sensei Darin is so patient with the kids and an excellent teacher! We even had a birthday party there and our son LOVED it! I would highly recommend this dojo to anyone looking for a well organized and affordable activity!

Sensei = teacher in Japanese. Sensei is an excellent Karate instructor, my daughter takes his Karate classes, and I take his Women's Self Defense classed. We are both learning soo much, many techniques, & we practice plenty in class. And because the children's Karate also teaches respect, discipline, character, & self defense, Sensei likes to kid around with the kids sometimes. We highly recommend Koenig Martial Arts with Darin Koenig which is in several different locations throughout Tampa with a variety of levels / belts & ages, "Go For It," "Just Do It !" :-)
