Tallahassee Cancer Institute provides comprehensive cancer and blood disorder care for adults. The team offers consultation and innovative diagnostic and therapeutic studies, working through interdisciplinary programs with Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Pathology, and Radiology. Patients can receive outpatient or inpatient care at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare, Capital Regional Medical Center, and other local hospitals. Patients appreciate the caring and compassionate staff, especially Dr. Rassam, who is known for being thorough, kind, and taking the time to explain treatments clearly. Many feel at ease and confident in the personalized care they receive, with some crediting the team for their successful treatment and improved outlook on life.
The hematologist here is Dr Rassam and I've been a patient for a few years. I had very low iron and had to come here for Venefor Iron infusions. He keeps up with my iron but not the other things that is going on with my bloodwork, like low calcium, now B, low protein. For that, I have to go to an endocrinologist. Why can't I just have one "specialist" His staff is wonderful and the infusion center is clean. I cannot speak to how this is for a cancer center because my family member got excellent care from Florida Cancer Center. Now, fast forward to 2024, the Dr is not respectful of appointment times. The staff is terrific! If you need infusions, this is your place.
I appreciate the level of care I am receiving, my only is gripe is that it is nearly impossible to get them to answer the phone. They called me 3 times back to back while I was at work, call them back 20 min later no answer all day or the next. It’s a small office so I struggle to understand why picking up the phone is that difficult. Again, I do appreciate the level of care I am receiving despite the communication challenges.
Felt immediately at ease in Dr. Rassam's office. He, and his staff, were kind and caring. Going to see a cancer specialist could be a nerve racking task. Not with Dr. Rassam, he has been very through and went above and beyond to make everything go smoothly. I would highly recommend him and his staff.
