“I came here to get my locs tightened up not knowing what to expect as it was a last minute decision and my usual hair dresser retired but I seen it as a chance to review a new local small business for the first time and see what's out there new because that's what a guide is really about anyway. So What became of this experience? I can honestly say as a Google guide since 1998 that this is hands down the best place in saint Augustine to get this style of hair done fast and right. “This salon is a one woman operation. Julie has been here for six years. She has been my wife’s hairdresser for about the last two. My wife is 95 years old and has trouble getting around. Julie helps her in every way she can. She is the most caring and compassionate woman I have met in quite some time.

Because of our ages (both hers and mine), we can no longer make it to the salon. Julie knows how much my wife loves to have a weekly wash and set, so she now comes to our house with her equipment. Talk about dedication and compassion.

Incidentally, she uses curlers to set my wife’s hair, and does an excellent job. Her prices are also reasonable.

The salon isn’t fancy. What makes this place is the owner operator.

While waiting for my wife to get her hair done in the past, I have seen Julie give haircuts to both men and women, dye hair etc. Her customers always seemed very pleased. Never heard any complaints.

“George the barber there did one of the best haircuts with a hot-towel-straight-razor-shave, that I’ve had since being cleaned up by Tim and Tyler at probably the best barber in North America, the Executive Barber Shop in Fort Wayne Indiana.
The space is smaller but the eclectic array of classic metal tin plates and nice tunes and especially George’s attention to detail and care made this a great choice. I’ll be going back.
I will add that he keeps the space very clean and seems to be a meticulous person on general. Definitely give George a call.“
