“I was at a family event when I noticed my brother had an unusually good haircut. Since this is a man who typically considers a comb “optional,” I had to ask where he got it. He told me Spa Hollywood and recommended his stylist, Hilary.

I booked an appointment, and from the moment I walked in, I realized this wasn’t just a barbershop—it was a full-blown spa experience. I was greeted at the door and offered a hot or cold beverage. At this point I was already wondering if I’d accidentally wandered into a luxury resort.

Then Hilary’s assistant took me back for a shampoo and head massage so incredible it had me reevaluating every life decision that led me to cheap haircut chains. I briefly considered asking if I could just stay there forever.

When I finally met Hilary, she was warm, kind, and genuinely interested in understanding exactly what I wanted. We spent five to seven minutes talking through the look I was after, and somehow she translated my vague hand gestures and questionable descriptions into exactly what I had pictured.

Hilary is exceptionally talented at what she does, but she’s also an absolute joy to talk to. She has the kind of personality that immediately puts you at ease, along with a wicked sense of humor that makes the appointment fly by.

Yes, Spa Hollywood costs a little more than I’m used to spending. But here’s the thing—I didn’t just pay for a haircut. I paid for an experience. I walked in needing a trim and walked out with great hair, lower blood pressure, and a dangerously high standard for every haircut I’ll ever get again.

“Love my zoom tan friends. Went in blind a few months ago for the first time EVER. I’m fair skinned and wanted a nice glow before summer, but tanning salons intimidated me as they sometimes have a bad rep (health reasons, bad customer service, already expecting to know what you want before you get there, lotions/intensifiers/aftercare etc😵‍💫)… If Crystal is there, RUN to her. She heard out all of my concerns and pretty much gave me a free consultation to put me on the right track between sun/sunless. There’s 2 other girls from my first few visits who deserve a shout out as well but their names are slipping my mind :(. Either way, every time I’ve been in- i’ve been greeted warmly and with knowledgeable recommendations, personal instruction on how to use machines/products, and AMAZING company sales ($1 tans/50% off/etc) almost every week, and I am truly starting to trust and enjoy my tanning journey. I also love how they have one of the safest DHA formulas on the market and wellness machines, which does minimize health risks. At least, in my brain it does lol. “This place is gorgeous! No appointments are given and it's a first come first serve. The huge tanning beds are always clean and fun. There are only so many songs you can hear in 10 min. But there are so many other options on their beds to play with. I like to lay in the beds or stand-up beds and then get a spray-on tan that can last up to two weeks if you can learn to take care of your tan. Best of all are the people working there. They are so nice and knowledgeable! I love this place!!“
