I had a deeply distressing experience with this vet on march 21st. When my cat was just showing early symptoms of FIP barely two days into showing symptoms they told me I had no choice but to either pay around 9k for hospitalization or put him down for around $200 to end his “suffering.” When I asked if I could take him home and if there were any other vets that could euthanize him, I was told no. I felt like I had no other options and was pressured into believing those were my only two choices. Instead of helping me explore other options or offering guidance, I left feeling scared, hopeless, and unsupported. Thankfully, I decided to take him home instead and get a second opinion on my own. After reaching out to FIP support groups, it took just one day to find a compassionate vet in Punta Gorda who was willing to help. Today, June 26th, my prince is thriving, healthy, and completely back to his normal self. His treatment ended up costing only about $100–$200, the same amount to put him down. My advice to anyone facing a difficult diagnosis is to always get a second opinion. Based on my experience, this clinic was not helpful when I was trying to understand all of my options, and getting another opinion is what SAVED my cat life.

I can’t thank Dr. Carlo and the staff at Charlotte Animal Hospital enough. My six month old puppy, Duke, needed emergency surgery and Dr. Carlo stayed after hours to save his life. It was one of the scariest experiences I’ve ever been through, but she took such amazing care of him and kept me informed every step of the way.
Everyone at the hospital was kind, compassionate, and truly cared about Duke. You can tell this team loves what they do and treats every animal like their own. Dr. Carlo even personally called to check on Duke after he came home, which meant so much to me and showed how much she genuinely cares about her patients. Because of her quick action and dedication, Duke is home recovering and back to being himself.
I will always be grateful for everything they did for my puppy. I highly recommend Dr. Carlo and the entire team at Charlotte Animal Hospital.

The staff is amazing from the second you walk in, everybody there is happy and seems to LOVE animals, the place is clean and smells good. The veterinarian was very knowledgeable and went over everything and what to expect. They even give you your medicine in a cute little treat bag, they are reasonably priced. It is very hard to find a good vet. I’m so happy I found them. Thank you everyone who works there for making a horrible situation easier and thank you for being so caring.

Apparently I never posted this when we first got Sam. (See below) So I shall post it now along with a recent photo of Sam. I am still very happy with Charlotte Animal Hospital. Very comfortable with the staff and Sam doesn't seem to mind going there at all. They answer whatever question I have and I never fell rushed during the appointment. Bonus is having the option of a wait list for walk ins. Also like knowing that if we have an emergency I'm able to go there as a walk in. Still very happy just as before with the care Sam receives.
Here's my original post from his 1st visit:
Our new rescue boy Sam had his 1st visit on Monday April 10th. Dr Kessler took the time to answer any questions that I had and we got a good heath report too!! (Happy momma here) A bit of kennel cough (more then likely from the shelter) but not too bad. Dr Kessler assured me that Sam will be just fine. The staff was very friendly and professional. We look forward to any and all future visits. Here is a picture a picture of Sam just because he's so cute! Lol!
