I arrived at VERC in a state of distress. My three-year-old male Chihuahua mix, Osito, was struggling to urinate, and when he did, the urine was completely filled with blood. He appeared to be in pain and was acting as if something was wrong.
I am incredibly grateful to the staff at VERC. From the front desk, Marita and Nati, to the technician, Noemi, and the doctor, Dr. Williamson, they all showed immense care and concern for Osito.
Despite the complex situation, the staff at VERC is doing everything they can to ensure that Osito is comfortable until we can transfer him to a university hospital for further treatment.
If I could give this team 100 stars, it still wouldn’t be enough! Spending a holiday weekend in an emergency veterinary hospital, after hours and while on vacation, is something you never expect. We were scared and far from home, but from the moment we walked through the door, this team treated our dog like their own. The two team members at the front desk deserve special recognition. They went above and beyond, listened to our concerns, and acted quickly. Our dog was experiencing incontinence and paw knuckling, and they recognized the urgency and expedited the process.
