“PTSDA Karate is a martial arts school every family should check out and consider. Founder and instructor Master DuFour, his wife, and their team teach the traditional martial art of Tang Soo Do in a safe, disciplined, but also extremely enjoyable environment! This karate school has been a staple in Pensacola for many years and flourished through hard seasons in our community, from hurricanes to COVID, adapting and continuing to serve. You will see young children through adults each night training and learning in classes, and my family has personally benefitted greatly by the wonderful instruction for years.Each class provides not only an excellent work out, high caliber martial arts instruction, but also teaches weekly lessons on character that help in all facets of life. In the current craze of MMA and even the Cobra Kai approaches, this sets them apart because students are challenged in all areas, and not only know self defense and world class karate skills but the appropriate application of them.PTSDA is a great and professional karate school where everything is done with excellence, yet with a family feel. “I don't usually do online reviews, and this one is under unusual circumstances, but I feel like I owe it to these great folks. I signed my teenage daughter and I up at an introductory rate for a week of classes. My hope was that we could continue to do these classes together if she enjoyed them, and maybe it would keep her out of trouble and help us bond a bit. Due to unfortunate changes in circumstances (which were not at all Tiger Rock's fault), we never got started with them. I had to humbly ask for a refund. There's more to the story and I won't get into all of the details here, but the people at Tiger Rock were very gracious and understanding about the whole situation. I walked in there expecting that I would probably be out-of-pocket for at least something, but that was not the case at all. They were beyond fair about the whole thing and treated me with far more kindness than I ever expected. Also, their whole facility is spotlessly clean, even their bathrooms. I've never seen such a clean martial arts school before. You can tell that they take sanitation very seriously at Tiger Rock. I can't speak personally about the actual classes themselves, but from a business standpoint, Master John and Master Rachel (the owners) are class acts and definitely know how to treat people. I fully intend to bring my younger daughter there to take their junior level classes when she's a bit older. Definitely give Tiger Rock a shot, especially if you are looking for a martial arts school for your kids.“

“David Fernandes is an excellent jiu-jitsu instructor. His technique is of the highest caliber, as his character. He has a true desire to see all of his students grow on and off the mats. I cannot recommend 9th Jiu-Jitsu enough.“
