He assessed the fault quickly and had the power restored in less than ten minutes. A feeder breaker had tripped due to a critter shorting it out. “Installers for new stove discovered original stove was wired directly into rat's nest of wires coming out of a metal pipe in the cement foundation. HUGE fire and shock hazard. MDC was recommended - it was a Saturday and they were closed - but they returned my call anyway and said they'd have someone at my house at 8 a.m. Monday. They did.
2.5 hours later they had it figured out, fixed, rewired, box put in, and new stove ready to be pushed into place and plugged in.
How it never started a fire or didn't electrocute someone is beyond me - I feared a complete rewiring of kitchen was coming.
Workers knew what they were doing, listened to what I needed and they figured out how to make it happen.
And it was a very fair price.
I now, after 63 years on this earth, lol, have an electrician I can BOTH trust AND afford!
