I always ask for deep tissue and rarely do masseuses apply enough pressure for me but this was not the case with Sharon at oriental massage . The pressure was perfect , she was very attentive , you could tell that she knew the muscles and knew exactly what she was doing !

I finally decided to take the plunge and checked out Oriental Massage this week. I have seen this location for years right on US-1 in Palmetto Bay, and had never considered it until I read some helpful reviews ( thanks fellow yelpers) I was in major need of a good rub-down so I called the same day as my service and Sharon was able to schedule me in on a weekday afternoon. The location had plenty of parking and once I walked inside, the ultra-dim lighting and minimal sound really helped set the tone. Once I checked in with Sharon at the reception she walked me to one of the massage rooms, and let me know that she would be my masseuse. * I found this a little weird but didn't have any issue with it after the fact. Since this was my first time getting an Oriental massage I was really intrigued and kinda hyper-aware of any differences from the massages I've had in the past and what I noticed most was that this was a no frills, intense and therapeutic massage and less of a luxe experience. Sharon was really great about asking my preferences, areas of pain and tolerance etc. she checked in with me several times throughout the massage. It was overall really great. * The only issue I had was about halfway through the massage, another employee entered the room to let Sharon know something and they had a brief exchange before leaving the room. I didn't like this for a couple of reasons... it disrupted a session that is supposed to be all about relaxation and calm and that was obviously interrupted. Also, it felt a little like an invasion of privacy since obviously during the massage you aren't fully covered and I had no idea who it was walking in. And there was no apology about the interruption which when your pay for a service like this, I feel is the least they could have done. Aside from that, the room was very clean and welcoming. They had some kind of generic instrumental music playing that wasn't my favorite but it wasn't bad. All in all I'm happy I checked it out and I would consider giving it a second try.
