We have a German shorthaired pointer (Louie Dash) . Louie stayed at “boarding school” (ACC) for 2 weeks when Louie was 6 months old . We wanted to instill good values and good habits at an early age . We knew recall was our number one priority (especially with this breed). Louie is now 15 months and his recall is phenomenal! He comes to us even when there is something way more interesting (ie: rabbits, squirrels, bunnies ). We do use the e collar. Riley trained Louie,my husband and I how and when to use it. We have a 1 year old Mini Dachshund who is so loving and a sweet heart but had trouble with reactivity and always being nervous with anxiety. We knew he needed structure in his life so we tried multiple trainers that told us different things but non worked. Then we found Gina and Fabian at ACC and on the evaluation they said “we can fix this no problem” we did the 2 week program with him, the day we got him back it was like night and day to see how well behaved he was and calmer as we were there and even able to process his emotions properly and not just bark. ACC was amazing. They changed my spastic puppy from a bundle of out-of-control impulses into a well behaved, pleasant little puppy. But he is not just more pleasant for us; I believe Oakley is also a happier dog for the training he received.
To be perfectly honest, I had no idea what I was doing with Oakley before I dropped him off for his training. But what a difference two weeks made!
It wasn't only the dog they trained--they also trained me and my whole family. We now feel confident that we can keep Oakley's training in place, and, amazingly that we can continue his training and introduce new things we want him to learn.
