Scheduled service with Roto-Rooter near Davenport for 4:30 PM and had a very frustrating experience. Before booking, I asked multiple times for a ballpark estimate and was told they could not provide one over the phone. A simple statement like “our minimum service charge is $550” would have been helpful and transparent.
The technician did not arrive until after 7:00 PM, and that was only after I repeatedly called for ETA updates. Unfortunately, every update I received was inaccurate.
When the technician finally arrived, the initial quote was over $1,000. After we declined, the price suddenly dropped to $550, with the explanation that it was the “lowest any job is.” That information should have been disclosed from the beginning.
Thankfully, CFL Sewer & Drain came out that same night, handled the issue with far less hassle, and at a much more reasonable price.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend wasting your time waiting on Roto-Rooter if you are looking for clear pricing and reliable scheduling.
