The Nurses are wonderful, very caring and treats you just like one of their own family member BUT the oncologist that did my surgery was great with the surgery itself BUT horrible with listening. I told him over and over how bad I was feeling after my surgery and that I had fluid coming from my GP, was told that was normal, wasn't eating because I was feeling nauseous all the time. I was losing weight like crazy, then went for my follow up was told that whatever I was doing that I needed to stop because I was losing weight to fast but I kept telling him the same thing that I couldn't eat how nauseous I was just to be told to drink ensure high in protein and walk but how am I supposed to do that if I'm nauseous all the time. October 31st I had my GP removed was told that the site would close up in a few days which it never did. I kept going to the hospital because of the pain, found out that I had 2 fluid pockets which they put 2 stents in still having pain in my stomach, my fiance rushed me to the hospital because I started bleeding from the site...found out that I had a very bad stomach infection, complications from the surgery and that if I hadn't come to the hospital that I would've died in 2 days.

I love the Orlando Health Cancer Institute, my mom was diagnosed with Melanoma (skin cancer) and when we first came here we don't know what to expect, maybe it was all a big mistake and we can go home, but it was reality kicking in, saying hey we're here, and we're in fight mode. when we first met Dr. Nair he was kind towards me and my mom and he promised us that he his team would do everything in their power to help my mom battle it. The cancer was removed to save her life. thanks to Dr. Nair. Dr Thomas was amazing and prepared her for the Immunotherapy and now Dr. Johnson would help continue with my mom to fight the battle, because Dr. Thomas is leaving to take time off to be with family. I thank Dr. Nair, Dr. Thomas, and the Orlando Health Cancer Institute every day that my mom is still alive and with us today. I knew we made the right choice 100%. God Bless You Orlando Health Cancer Institute!
