Pet boarding/training in Ocala

“TEN STARS! Absolutely loved my experience with Red Fern Pet Lodge!! After Bryce took us on a thorough tour of the facility, (absolutely incredible, and fully secured if your dog happens to be an escape artist like mine btw!) My Albert boarded with them for a whole week. I received a report card for him & photo each day, and through these updates it was easy to see how at ease and comfortable my Albert was at Red Fern. I have been VERY nervous leaving Albert anywhere due to some negative experiences with pet care in the past, and Red Fern has entirely restored my ability to leave him somewhere safe where I KNOW he will be cared for (and *never* escape). If you are a nervous pet parent like myself who prefers daily updates, Red Fern will be perfect for you and your pup! If anything different occurs with your dog during their stay at Red Fern, no matter what, you are updated promptly and thoroughly, and I am so impressed with & thankful for this. Bryce provided us with gracious hospitality, and made us feel confident that Albert would be cared for perfectly. Red Fern will DEFINITELY be seeing us and our Albert again, & I doubt that I will ever have to find a different boarding lodge!! Highly recommend!!“

“Can’t say enough about Maricamp Animal hospital. I took my dog there because she was actively having a seizure. They were the closest to my house. ( I have never had my dog there before) As soon as we got there they took my dog straight back and didn’t ask questions about my name, seeing driver’s license, making sure I was going to pay, nothing! Their main focus was my dog and her health. They were very compassionate and caring, and it showed!! Everyone there was extremely nice and caring. They took such wonderful care of my puppy girl. I will be taking both of my dogs there from now on. “I've boarded all three of my dogs here several times over the years I've lived in Ocala, and I'll continue to do so while they remain open and I have dogs to board.

I can't speak highly enough of Neil and his team. As a fellow Brit, I can appreciate Neil's sarcastic British sense of humor and no-nonsense personality. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but beneath that is someone who genuinely knows dogs. Him and his team understands their behavior, knows how to manage them properly, and takes excellent care of them.

Our first dog was a rescue with aggression issues, and finding a boarding facility willing to take him was incredibly difficult. Neil had no hesitation in handling him and looked after him exceptionally well, something very few boarding facilities are willing or equipped to do.

The facilities are well maintained and exactly what you'd expect from a boarding and training kennel. The kennels are kept clean, and the staff always follow any feeding or medication instructions we've provided.

There's also plenty of secure outdoor space for the dogs to socialize, exercise, and burn off energy safely.

If you're looking for a place where your dog will be treated like a child in a luxury hotel, then a home sitter may be a better fit. That's simply not what a boarding kennel is designed to provide. Dogs bark; it's a normal part of being around other dogs and the excitement and noise that comes with a boarding environment. In my experience, most dogs benefit far more from having plenty of secure space to run, play, and socialize with other dogs (when appropriate) than they do from a few individual walks each day.

If you're looking for a, reasonably priced, experienced, professional facility where knowledgeable staff will care for your dog in a safe, well-managed environment, I'd recommend Ocala Dog Ranch every single time.“
