1650 San Pablo Rd S #13, Jacksonville“I feel genuinely compelled to write this review because this experience stayed with me.
My dogs are my everything — especially Lily, who has always been extremely dramatic when it comes to nail trims. Like, Olympic-level anxiety. I was always told keeping nails short is important for a dog’s comfort, so thinking I was being a good pup mom, I convinced myself the benefits outweighed her temporary panic attacks. Still… it never fully sat right with my heart.
The moment I walked into Mel’s spa, I felt a calm I don’t usually feel in grooming situations. The space was spotless, peaceful, and welcoming — and seeing happy, relaxed pups just casually living their best lives inside instantly put me at ease. Right then and there, I knew in my soul my baby would be okay.
A few minutes later, I came back fully prepared to be tackled at the door by a frantic dog charging at me like a tiny linebacker — nails half done, eyes bulging, trauma unlocked. Because… that’s usually how this goes.
Instead? I was absolutely FLOORED.
Lily was calm. Happy. Chill. Like she’d just come back from a spa retreat instead of a nail trim. I honestly had to check that this was, in fact, my dog.
And then — as if that miracle wasn’t enough — Mel told me Lily only needed three nails trimmed. Something I never would’ve known if she hadn’t been honest. She then told me she wasn’t charging me at all and refused to take anything, even after I insisted and told her her care for my dog was priceless.
That level of integrity, compassion, and genuine love for animals is rare — and it speaks volumes about who Mel is and how she runs her business.
So whether you’re a local, just passing through, or here on vacation like I was — from one dog lover to another — your fur babies are in truly exceptional hands here. I only wish I lived closer so I could keep coming back and supporting this business regularly.
Until next year’s vacation… thank you, Mel, for your honesty, your heart, and for somehow turning my nail-trim-phobic, slightly unhinged dog into a calm, happy pup. That alone tells me everything I need to know. ?✨“

His most fun is getting to swim and the best part of the extra treats and attention he gets. He always gets a bath just before he comes home and feels safe and comfortable while there. Murphy wouldn’t go back unless it was the best place ever.“

11300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville“We cannot say enough wonderful things about Dogtopia and the incredible care Tyson receives there. Our boy is full of energy, curiosity, and mischief — and somehow always manages to find trouble, whether it’s swallowing a magnolia pod from the backyard or tearing a nail during playtime.
What continues to amaze us is how attentive and caring Peggy and her staff are. Recently, Dogtopia noticed Tyson had a torn nail that wasn’t even bleeding yet. They immediately took a picture and sent it to us so we could contact our vet. Another time, they noticed a small amount of blood in his stool and contacted us right away. Thanks to their quick attention, we were able to have Tyson checked immediately, and thankfully it was only stomach irritation from something he had eaten.
The level of observation and care they provide is beyond impressive. With so many dogs in their care, the fact that they notice even the smallest changes shows how much they truly love and watch over every dog like family.
We never worry when Tyson is at Dogtopia because we know he is safe, loved, and in the best hands possible. Peggy and her team go above and beyond every single time, and we are so grateful for everything they do.
Tyson may keep everyone on their toes, but Dogtopia has proven time and time again that there is no better place for him. ❤️?

220 Valley Cir, Ponte Vedra Beach“I don’t usually write reviews, but Dr. Hirsch is truly fantastic and deserves recognition. He genuinely cares about pets and is exceptionally intelligent, highly experienced, and incredibly thoughtful in his approach.
I was referred to him by a neighbor during an extremely stressful time. My primary vet (who is a close friend) was working limited hours after having a baby, and after an emergency vet visit I was told my dog could have a serious zoonotic infection. I was overwhelmed and scared. Even though we were not his patients, Dr. Hirsch called me that same night, arranged for me to come in promptly, and coordinated an ultrasound.
He stayed in close contact with both me and my primary veterinarian, personally calling me with results and offering calm, rational, expert guidance throughout. His depth of knowledge and clinical judgment were evident at every step, and he was a steady, reassuring voice when I needed it most.
Dr. Hirsch is not only an exceptional veterinarian, but a genuinely wonderful human being. I recommend him without hesitation and am deeply grateful for his care, compassion, and expertise.“
