Kountry Kutz is a barber shop in Monticello and is hands down one of the best barber shops. It is a pleasant experience and the shop of choice for many. The lady barber has a heart of gold, is the best, and goes above and beyond to ensure customers feel taken care of and look professional. She provides great haircuts, clean ups, trims, shaves, and does eyebrows. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, making customers feel like they are at home. It is a very nice place with awesome service and great conversation. The shop is highly recommended to anyone.
I was just walking by when Tonya called out to me like we’d known each other for years. “Hold on—where do you think you’re going with that fuzzy neck?” I couldn’t help but laugh. Next thing I knew, I was in the chair.
The shop has that classic, no-nonsense feel—mirrors, lights, a bit of character in every corner—but what really stands out is her attention to detail. She didn’t rush. Took her time, cleaned everything up, and made sure I walked out looking sharp instead of “just trimmed.”
What started as a funny moment turned into one of the best walk-in decisions I’ve made in a while.

I got a bad haircut somewhere else yesterday while preparing for a big conference I have to attend next week. Tonja went above and beyond to fix it for and ensure I felt taken care of. Thank you!
This is my shop of choice! I moved to Monticello In January of this year. A month later, when I went to look for a barber shop I stumbled across Kountry Kutz and thought I’d give it a try. I’ve never gone anyplace since. The lady barber is the best, and everyone who’s there when I go is so friendly and welcoming. When I’m there I feel like I’m at home! I like to wear my hair short and she does a great job and trims my mustache too! It’s great and I’d recommend it to anyone!
