Backyard redux post epic FL freeze. We lost hundreds of plants, hedges, and a beautiful Christmas Palm tree to the unexpected and unprecedented FL freeze. Rather than replant at great expense and without knowing if it could happen again (anything is possible), we decided to go with artificial turf, not replace the many yards of hedges and remove all but one planter in the backyard. We capped all of the irrigation except for that which waters our new Christmas palm and the single planter on the pool deck. Whatever I write here won't do justice or sufficiently capture how pleased we are with our home remodel experience. I have always heard contractor horror stories from friends and acquaintances who have completed major renovations- our experience was MUCH different, and we couldn't be happier with our new home. From the beginning and throughout the entire six-month project (complete renovation of our whole house) the communication was great, and everything was organized/smooth.
