There is too much negative to post about Doug Swanson, Swanson Towing and his unlicensed car lot called Lake City Auto Sales. There is nothing good to say about it. But here is some of it. Doug Swanson is a total shyster and pathological liar. How sad this all began with our request to tow my son's car to a local dealership for repairs. So we could trade it or sell it. To which Doug Swanson said we would be "ripped off" and offered to help fix the car, sell it for us and in turn sell us another car we had agreed upon. He is not a man of his word by any means. None of that happened. After months on end of lies and verbal abuse this shady character did not deliver the car he was to sell us. He took cash to fix fans in our car and never did an ounce of work to it. When we attempted to get our car, our property, returned to us he came up with unagreed upon towing costs from his home to his unlicensed car lot. Where he kept the car locked up so we could not retrieve our own property. We never gave him permission to do any of this. He claims he lost my license plates which had to be reported stolen. Stolen is a common trend when dealing with Doug Swanson. He also provided my son with a loaner car during the course of this mess. That as it turned out that car was also stolen. Because we allowed him to tow our car from our house to his it isn't considered stolen under the law. Because he is devious and knows how to manipulate the law. The end result is our car is gone and will never be returned to us. RUN don't walk from dealing with them. Find someone else! Odds are your property/car will never be returned to you. This guy is a dead beat.
