This place is simply amazing. I came in for the free newbie class to try it out. dance has always been a passion of mine. wasn't sure what to expect and hadn't been to a dance class since I was 13. everyone was so kind, patient, and welcoming. the dancing was so much fun and anyone can do it. Thank you, Dance Shack, for lighting that fire in me again.
This long-time fixture on the Jacksonville dance scene offers superb instruction in many dance genres such as salsa, bachata, West Coast swing - even zouk! - and many more. The atmosphere is friendly, inviting, and non-intimidating. No one is forced into a long, binding contract for lessons. The prices for group and private lessons are extremely reasonable. All instructors are terrific, but I must single-out Tanya Ziegler for her incredible expertise in zouk, West Coast swing, and all the Latin dances - she is an amazing teacher!
I had an absolutely wonderful experience here. My first lesson was tonight and I was very nervous, shy and had serious anxiety but as soon as I walked in Tanya was so friendly and extended such warm welcome to me I knew I was in the right the place for me. My fears quickly turned to excitement as I am so thankful that took the first steps today and I can't wait to go back and start regular classes next week! If you're like me and sitting on the fence or nervous, I say just go and get to it! it's fun and you won't regret it.
