I highly recommend Andrew Merget for Schroth physical therapy for scoliosis treatment. My daughter has had 6 sessions with him so far and I've been very impressed with how knowledgeable he is about scoliosis. Schroth is very detailed exercises and Andrew does a really good job of explaining them in a way that my daughter is able to understand.
I'm so thankful I found Dr. Merget! I've had 7 Schroth physical therapy sessions with him so far for my scoliosis. I learned Schroth many years ago, and I found it to be the most helpful therapy for the pain/tightness/posture issues I experience - not to mention, the most educational. Fast forward to me living in FL and needing a refresher and a motivation boost years later, I was happy to find that Dr. Merget was less than a 15 min. drive from me! I spoke with him on the phone initially and was very impressed with the detail/time he took with me. After my initial in-person consult, I knew I wanted to work with him. If you have scoliosis and you're looking to find a physical therapy based methodology to help bring your body back into balance, Schroth and Dr. Merget truly can't be beat. Other specialists may have general knowledge about scoliosis, but since each scoliotic spine is different, it's SO helpful to have a true scoliosis specialist working alongside you, fully understanding exactly what is going on in your body. The tailored exercises may seem tricky to learn at first, but once you get the hang of them, it almost becomes muscle memory - and empowering! Dr. Merget is very thoughtful and thorough with his approach, and you can tell it's very important to him that you feel comfortable, educated, and well-equipped to do the exercises at home. His passion for helping others really shines through in his interactions, and his early morning/evening appt. times to accommodate all schedules is really a testament to this (and convenient!).
