Dateline: 22 May 2023 Well my huge dead Water Oak plus another Water Oak that was dying due to its roots are now gone. SANFORD TREE SERVICES were here at 8:00am; got started by 8:30am on the not-quite-dead tree while they waited for JEA to take my power line down about 9:00am; by which time the dying tree was down and being cut up and loaded for removal. The larger dead tree was down and loaded to be hauled off and the Sanford crew gone by 11:30am; and JEA had my power on by 12:00pm - smooth and easy. (My dog enjoyed the activity and the attention from crew members.) These people worked cohesively together like the professional team of experts they are. Each one knew what was needed and did so without direction. I was truly impressed! And of course they were long gone before the rain even started on Monday. I did call to ask the supervisor/arborist to come by so I could pay them: I had to call and ask to pay them - nothing up front; no whining about needing money to get started; and they didn’t expect payment until AFTER MY FINAL APPROVAL: but I’ll be in and out when the stump grinding team does their thing so I ASKED to pay them early. I’m still amazed at their price being LESS than the three other lowest “estimates” from firms I talked to and only SANFORD was including the second tree; stump and root grinding; hull-off; and full clean up. (He did knock a little more off for me being a Senior and a Veteran - sweet.) Since it had started storming I had called and told the company project co-ordinator: she was great too by co-ordinating and scheduling everything and everyone from county/city approval and permits, cranes and equipment, through co-ordinating JEA power line drop and re-connect. I let her her know the stump grinding could wait for better weather and I actually got a call to thank me and promising to let me know when they would be there even though they’re still planning on tomorrow. I told them I trust them - and I really do. (My dog has learned to climb into a rocker to watch all the action out the front window.) Once the stump and root grinding is completed they’ll have people come out to make sure the saw dust is all gone and the yard is back to condition before they came. It is a fantastic feeling when know you picked the right professionals for the job and they are not only competent but also completely trustworthy!! I must admit I expected them to be extremely professional from my first meeting with their arborist/project supervisor. His professionalism was obvious when he filled out their Recommended Services sheet with the final price after his inspection and lowered the price several times. Plus he also volunteered a copy their CERTIFICATE OF LIABILITY INSURANCE including all coverages for Commercial General Liability; Automobile Liability; Workers Compensation And Employers Liability; and their General Liability. The coverages included company names, policy numbers, dates, and amounts. All this before I could even ask. Last thought: I did business with these people and they did not even ask me to sign an agreement or contract - they trust their customers because they themselves are ethical and trustworthy.
