About Hyde Park Golf Club

The Hyde Park Golf Club in Jacksonville, Florida, is an 18-hole public golf course designed by the renowned architect Donald Ross in 1925. The course has undergone significant renovations and improvements since 2015, including updates to the clubhouse. The wide open fairways, beautiful sand traps, and a wrap-around deck that offers stunning views of the course make it an enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels. The course's staff and service have been praised for their friendliness and helpfulness, with the cart lady and staff inside the clubhouse receiving particular commendation. However, some golfers have noted that the course can feel crowded and that the greens may not always be in optimal condition. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Hyde Park Golf Club remains a great option for golfers in the area, with its rich history, beautiful scenery, and welcoming atmosphere. The course has recently seen improvements in its overall condition, thanks to the efforts of a new superintendent who has worked to improve the quality of the grass and playing surfaces.

My home course, so a bit biased. But there’s good reason I play here 3 times a week. Great design by the master Stanley Thompson. Great staff who always make me feel welcome. Conditions greatly improving now that they’ve found a superintendent who actually know how to grow grass. I do want to talk to him about some of the pin positions though ;)

Very nice example of a classic golf course by Donald Ross. Fun to play and easy to walk 9 or 18 holes. I learned to play golf here 40 years ago with Earl Tomlinson, always reminds me what a great game that we enjoy. It’s beautiful !

Not very impressed with course, play was slow,3 men in front of us were dropping two balls a hole with golfers waiting on the tee.No help from ranger.Probably won't ever go back. Was a shame because this the first golf course I ever played in Florida prior to moving here 24 years ago.
