I went to the office located inside LensCrafters at the Avenues Mall. The doctor gave me an exam and I had LensCrafters make my glasses, very expensive RayBan Titanium frames and the very best lenses. They were about $600 to me after insurance. I got them about a week later and I put them on in the car. I went back inside almost immediately and told the optician that I had difficulty seeing with the new lenses. She advised me that I need to give my eyes 2-3 weeks to adjust. So, I did just that and went back in about 17 days and let them know I was not happy with my vision. The same doctor then examined my eyes again and gave me a new prescription, which LensCraters remade at no cost to me. When I picked up the remade glasses, I informed tam that my vision was still not acceptable and I was informed, again, that I need to give my eyes time to adjust and come back on 10 days to 2 weeks. I went back about 2 weeks later and I advised them again that vision was not nearly as clear as it was with my old lenses so the doctor examined my eyes for a third time and gave me a third very different prescription. LensCrafters informed me that I was beyond the 30 day period from the first making of the glasses and therefore they would not remake lenses again at no charge. I communicated with the doctor's office and they stated that they are not responsible for the glasses, only the exams. I am stuck with different focal distances in each eye. The office of Ted Brink and Associates tried to tell me I was either diabetic or had cataracts, both of which were disputed in the exam records. I would not recommend either the doctor or LensCrafters for eye glasses or exams. To top it off, I continued to receive emails asking me if I wanted to schedule a new exam. I replied to that email, using an email address that was NOT a do not reply email, asking them to stop sending me emails. I got about 5 of those emails before finally calling the corporate office in Jacksonville and asking them to remove me from the email list. The person I spoke with sated that it was automated and I explained that they need a do not reply message if they are not going to read the emails.

This place really cares for their customers. I told them my concern about needing glasses today and they made it a priority to get them done immediately. After and hour they were already made. Awesome job guys! The doctor and opticians are all so kind and make me feel comfy

The doctor I saw was excellent... Dr. Nickelle Kellough. Personable, patient, knowledgeable and very caring. Just as a doctor should be. She took the time to explain and answer all my questions. She even taught me about my eyes and walked me through the imaging. Very cool! A+ and I'd give her five stars! However, the front desk woman was rude and dismissive, and even lied to me. I don't know her name. When I was filling out my paperwork, I said I wanted to stand because my back hurt. I don't have any ailments, so all paperwork only takes me about 60 seconds to fill out. She told me that due to HIPAA, I'd have to sit and not block the entrance. I was not blocking any entrance as it was a wide area, I could not see any patient information or her (or any) computer. There was also no one else there and I pointed that out, and said as soon as I saw someone else anywhere near, I'd move. She "ma'am'd" me and told me I'd have to sit because of HIPAA. Which is bull. Rather than create a scene and fight her on it, I went and sat. Bottom line, she wanted me to get away from her and lied about HIPAA to force me to do it. I'm not an idiot, and HIPAA is largely abused these days because people think it does more than it does. From the HIPAA website: "The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) is a federal law that required the creation of national standards to protect sensitive patient health information from being disclosed without the patient's consent or knowledge. The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued the HIPAA Privacy Rule to implement the requirements of HIPAA. The HIPAA Security Rule protects a subset of information covered by the Privacy Rule. "The Privacy Rule standards address the use and disclosure of individuals' health information (known as "protected health information") by entities subject to the Privacy Rule. These individuals and organizations are called "covered entities." The Privacy Rule also contains standards for individuals' rights to understand and control how their health information is used. A major goal of the Privacy Rule is to ensure that individuals' health information is properly protected while allowing the flow of health information needed to provide and promote high quality health care and to protect the public's health and well-being. The Privacy Rule strikes a balance that permits important uses of information while protecting the privacy of people who seek care and healing." Absolute disgrace and abuse of the concept. I would gladly go see the doctor again, anywhere! This front desk woman, not so much. Intolerable. This location is inside of LensCrafters. I was so disgusted by my experience (and lack of inventory for designer frames, admittedly), I went to the town center location and told them what happened, and the person who helped me even agreed that they've heard unpleasant things about how people are treated. I make a point to shop small every time. This one time I just needed glasses and couldn't find a small business with the brands I wanted (I did try for about 2 weeks, even stopping by some places, as I just moved here), and I gave in and tried this place. Now that I have two years till my next eye exam, I can find a great small business to support that doesn't treat its patients/customers with such disrespect.
