Just had Alpha Foundations secure our house foundation with 5 new beams, 20 jacks on new and existing beams as well as add a French drain system including encapsulating our crawl space with dehumidifier. Entire process went extremely smooth. Inspection was very detailed, projected started on time, work crew was fantastic and polite. Project finished early. Small glitch with electrical requirement which was temporarily solved until our electrician can implement permanent solution. Thanks Malik, Niko, Antoine and Chris. Looking forward to annual inspections in the future. Original issues were several new cracks in the house, doors not closing, obvious sinking of floors, puckered hardwood floors. Alpha Foundations' system resolved doors close now, spongy floor gone, floor elevations raised approximately 1 inch around the house. Discovered floor sinking in master bathroom due to rotted sub flooring. Definite value add to the house.
Received a free estimate from Alpha Foundations back in October and was told our home needed nearly $15k in foundation work. The inspector who visited our home never measure a single thing, never provided us with any pictures or diagrams of the supposed issues and simply emailed us the proposed amount of the job. I asked for an itemized bill and was then given as estimate that took off the "extended warranty" coverage, whatever that means. The guy never got up on the roof, never climbed in the attic, drove a little compact car so he had to actual tools, just used his cellphone to take a few pictures. I was so disappointed with the estimate I received from Alpha Foundations that I ended up hiring a structural engineer which did cost me appx $1k but I'm soooo thankful I did. He was at our home for about 2 hours and was in every nook and cranny and was measuring the floors, the attic, went on to the roof and measured inspected all of it. Provided us a detailed 15 page report with numerous pictures and diagrams and came to the conclusion that the home (2023 build) was simply settling and needed to such foundation work. Folks, this company is in business to make money and the only way they can do that is to find foundation issues even when there are none and propose insanely expensive and unnecessary "fixes"....... If you truly think you may have structural foundation issues then I highly recommend taking the time to hire an actual structural engineer and don't fall for a "free" inspection from companies like these. Lesson learned on my part
