I got my hair done at Debon Hair Salon in June of last year after being referred by a patient I cared for. Since I live in the city, I decided to give her a try. At first, my hair looked perfect—I loved it. But when it was time to take it out, I noticed that some sections remained straight. Even after washing it twice, those parts didn’t return to their natural texture.
I hesitated to write this review because I didn’t want to bring her down, but I can’t ignore how she handled the situation. When I went back to her for help, she refused to take accountability and made it seem like it was my fault. The experience was not only disappointing but also hurtful. Now, I’m stuck wearing braids until my hair grows out and returns to its natural state. I have no idea what she put in my hair, but I regret going to her and wouldn’t recommend her services to anyone.

I took my son in to get a wash from this salon. We asked nicely for the price and was told the price nicely. We sat down said hi and put our items down on the salon chair. I asked the male can my son go next door to order some food while we waited. The male said (“yes it will be 30 minutes until he will be seen, so you’re good.”) My son ordered his food and then we went back to the salon 4 minutes later. They had locked the door on us Smh. 🤦🏾 I knocked over and over again looking at them. They just looked at us talking to one another. I had to ask one of the cops that was eating next door to help us get our belongings. The 1st cop told us to keep knocking that he couldn’t make them let us in to their store to get our things SMH. I can’t make this up! 🤦🏾 Then I guess 🤷🏾♀️ he must’ve thought about what he had just said because, he told the other cop at the same table to go with us. We get there and the ladies were sitting in the chairs. The cop knocked on the door this time, and she walked fast to open the door. 😧”He asked me where were my things”. I showed him and then he asked her why did she lock us out from our belongings. She stated that “she has been locking the door to the shop since COVID-19 had started, for protection.” So I decided to remind them both that I had been knocking on the door for a while, with both ladies in the shop just looking at me not answering. 🙄 She said “oh no we no hear you. 😒 Come on in we give good service here”. Pretending of course to care. I just looked for the rest of our things that had been moved, and walked out. He then informed her “that what she did was not a kind thing to do.” As we walked off he apologized for her behavior and told us “to be careful.” She definitely locked us out for no reason at all, just being nasty. Maybe it was a sign from God, that we didn’t need to be there in the first place. Laugh now and cry later because, karma is real.

I took my grandma here about two years ago, they didn’t let me in because of Covid restrictions so I showed a picture of what my grandma picked color and style…. We took our time looking for what she wanted.I paid before I saw her and they did a whole different color and didn’t style the way she wanted because they didn’t have time although I scheduled the appointment for color cut and style. My grandma said she was doing her hair and another lady’s at the same time. I was very disappointed and so was she. I don’t recommend anyone go to this salon.

Gladys is the truth!!!! She did my 11 year old daughters hair and I still don't think I payed her enough for this transformation. Pricing, customer service and quality can NEVER be beat here. My one and only salon is Devon!!!

Pretending of course I just look for my things and walked out. Basically she locked us out for no reason at all being nasty . We definitely need some black salons because, most of these places are so disrespectful to people of color for no reason at all.
