It took some time to get to the point of iliac vein stent placement, but looking back, I am incredibly grateful for his thorough evaluation and care. Before my stent, I lived with constant heaviness, pain, engorged veins, discomfort, and muscle spasms in my left leg. The condition also caused pelvic congestion syndrome, so my symptoms would become significantly worse during ovulation and my menstrual cycle. Most months, I only had about seven days where I felt relatively normal.
