Southwest Professional Services offers tax preparation services with mixed reviews. One long-term client praises Mitch for providing great service for personal taxes over 15 years and has successfully referred friends. However, there are significant concerns from business clients regarding communication and deadlines. One client reported that their business tax returns were filed late without notification, and they struggled to reach the office for updates. After persistent calls and emails, they finally received the necessary documents weeks after the deadline, but faced delays in getting confirmation of the filing. Despite these issues, the confirmation was eventually received after raising concerns. Overall, while some clients appreciate the service, others have experienced frustrating communication and deadline management.
We hired Mitchell Stovring to complete and file our business tax returns. He ended up missing the deadline with no notification. We called and called his office but were unable to get a hold of him. Finally we sent multiple emails for a status update. About 2 and a half weeks after the tax deadline, we finally received an emailed copy for review. We immediately signed and returned the signed copy and asked for a confirmation of the filing before we pay his invoice. It’s been 3 more weeks now and we still haven’t received a confirmation of the filing. We called his office at least 5 times and emailed multiple times without being able to get in contact with him. It is now May 27, and still no response from him…looks like we will have to hire another accountant to complete the filing. After the post above, we did get a confirmation of filing the same day.

I've used Southwest Professional Services for more than a decade. Mitch and the staff are super friendly and always able to answer important tax and business related questions.
