I don’t typically leave reviews, but given this involves pregnancy and health, I felt it was important to share.
I’m currently five months pregnant and had been seeing Dr. Calvo for about two years. My biggest concern occurred at my most recent visit. During the ultrasound, the technician mentioned I had partial placenta previa—an important condition that should be clearly discussed. However, when I met with Dr. Calvo afterward, she reviewed my chart and did not mention it. I had to bring it up myself, and only then did she acknowledge it. That was very concerning, as I’m not confident it would have been addressed otherwise.
Throughout several appointments, I also found myself repeating information multiple times, and she asked the same questions at least two or three times during my appointments. She’s not listening well. While she is kind, I did not feel a strong sense of focus or attentiveness in my care.
Additionally, the office communication was frustrating. We received inconsistent billing information and had to follow up multiple times with different staff members to get clarity. The front and back office did not seem aligned, which made the overall experience more stressful.
The nurses are good and seem to carry it but the one nurse we loved, mentioned she’s trying to leave.
I am not a doctor, but my husband is a dentist and my stepmom is a doctor. When I explained what I was experiencing, they all agreed it was not good medical care and decided to switch. Even my friends were concerned when I mentioned thing - for example that when I started my pregnancy journey the doctor did not would walk them through things, give me information or documentation on the to dos and don’t. Again, I had to ask for information and they told me take a picture of a handwritten note that explained common questions and things.
Ultimately, my husband and I decided to switch providers. During pregnancy, feeling confident in your doctor is essential, and unfortunately, that was not our experience here.

Dr Calvo. I have waited months to decide to leave a review. However your behavior was so hurtful and disparaging ... unthinkable What on earth gives you the right to call your patint a liar 3 times during the initial visit. I believe that because I asked for hormonal help it may have upset you somehow. After being called a liar I had to stand up for myself. I brought the meds I was using and tried to be upfront and transparent. I was treated like I was seeking pain pills. Also the WHI is being re-examined and you actually were guessing your answers and somehow Your patient ( me) han to endure the put downs. I hope no other woman has to endure your hurtful behavior. When you become an elderly woman like myself you would want the same issues addressed in a normal manner.

THIS DR IS NOT WHAT SHE PRETENDS TO BE AND DOES NOT GIVE ALL INFORMATION TO A PATIENT. I have gone to this Dr for quite some time. I had an appointment with her 2 weeks ago. I sat in her waiting room for over an hour waiting for my appt with no one from her staff saying anything about her running late. Finally I get into an exam room and wait another 15 minutes. When she FINALLY came in I told her I was not happy and what she and her staff did was wrong. She apologized. I told her I did not accept her apology. She asked what I wanted her to do. I said just do the exam so I can finally leave. She then after the pap smear told me since I was 77 I no longer needed them which was AFTER 65. So then why has she HAD ME come back over and over for12 years if I did not need them????? Was it because she needed the money seeing patients that were not neceassary or what? After I left I had decided I would no longer be going to this WOMAN for anything. A week letter I get a letter from her dismissing me from her practice for threatening her and her staff. I had done no such thing she lied. I could not wait to get out of there because of what she had done. My advice would be to go find a Dr that not only tells the truth but tells you proper medical information. Blessings

Waited for almost an hour freezing in gown. Just walked out, they substantially overbooked appts and the waiting time is ridiculous. Finding another gyno that actually cares about her patients lives- not just at the whim of the dr when she gets around to it.

Dr Calvo was very thorough and didn’t rush, in fact she spent 45mins with me! I was her last patient that day, but still, she went over everything in my info/chart and it was great. Clean professional office and staff as well.

I don’t want to be bearing bad news and I’ve heard great things about Dr. Calvo and this is not all directed towards her but I had an appointment scheduled and at the date of my first ever annual check up, Mother Nature was starting to make an entrance (spotting) unexpectedly. And I let the front desk know (she was very sweet and professional), but when she went to relay the news to the nurse of Dr. Calvo, I overheard her and she was extremely rude about it and it made me feel extremely uncomfortable that I almost walked out. Things happen unexpectedly and as a woman I would’ve thought that the nurse could be more sympathetic and more aware of her surroundings. This unfortunately put a really bad taste in my mouth.
