“My experiences with Bayside have been excellent for well over a year. Unfortunately, today at daycare, it was a poor experience for my golden retriever. Nala is very sweet and calm not your typical golden. I have watched her at the facility at various times during daycare previous visits. There have been dogs that tried to mount her but the staff quickly stop that behavior. Today at daycare I checked on her and there was this dog that was repeated mounting her or would stand or sit over her. She would lay down the whole time in the area but the dog was right there. She normally loves to follow the staff around during the day. Today she just laid there. This afternoon I watched for almost 1 hour the behavior of this aggressive dog and the staff. He was constantly right near her or actually standing over her. Then when she tried to move away the dog would again go after her. The staff was not doing anything not even looking at this. After her not doing what she normally does (walk around and follow staff) I knew she was stressed and went to get her. When I arrived I told the person at the front desk of what I saw and we walked over to the window (indoor room) and we witnessed this dog almost completely on top of her back) (the dog was a good 15 pounds heavier than her.). We watched as the staff member actually walk right by them and did nothing even after I was at the window begging for her to do something. I demanded that she get my dog out of their immediately. After Nala was out, the front desk person asked me which dog and I pointed it out. She stated the “that’s Remy”. It gave me the impression that he does this all the time. She apologized and did not charge me but I asked for the manager to call me. (She was in a meeting.)
When I receive a call, I will file a complaint about that dog (Remy) being too aggressive to be in daycare and also for the staff member that did nothing.
Since we have been home Nala has wanted her back and backside rubbed. Something needs to be done about dogs that are to aggressive and better training for staff.“
