We first enjoyed meeting her at the Femme Akoi Studio, where we had a “makeup trial” to experiment with the exact look and preferences we each had. Vinette planned our individual looks according to our questionnaire answers and sample photos. She then listened to our feedback, and made changes to get “the look” each of us felt most comfortable with. This service was a first for most of us. We felt it was a financial splurge, but it was worth it to have a beautiful look that photographed well and lasted for such an important event. “It honestly feels wrong that it’s taken me over 5 years to finally write this review, because Salon GW has been such a big part of my life for so long. From Greg and Walter, to Andi taking over the salon, to Krista, and now Punch cutting my hair — every single person there has made me feel more like family than a client.

What makes GW special isn’t just that they’re incredibly talented (which they are). It’s the atmosphere, the people, and the way they genuinely care about everyone who walks through the door. No matter who you book with, you’re in good hands. As a guy, I know some men can be hesitant about going to a salon instead of a barber shop, but trust me — they’ve got you covered and can do just about anything. My wife also goes there for her color and hair appointments, and she loves them just as much as I do.

They’ve even been part of some of the biggest moments in our lives, including helping us get ready for our wedding, which says everything about the level of trust we have in them.

And on top of all that, the location is perfect if you live in Dunedin — right off the trail, so there’s always something to do before or after your appointment.

She is professional. She is one of the nicest people to ever exist. Enjoy pictures attached: before & after. I usually cut my hair every 6 months but the balayage is new on virgin hair (no color for 2 years!). Prices are comparable to the world’s current economy and other salons but with Shelby, you get what you pay for. The quality of her products and work is unmatched. 100000000/10 recommend!“

I got a fantastic cut which looked great when I left the salon but it also looked great when I tried to style it the next day. An extremely enjoyable experience with a very expert high quality cut.
