I cannot recommend Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home enough. Unfortunately for me, I have used them several times. In each instance Tara was patient, empathetic and respectful of our family’s wishes. She helped us create beautiful and tasteful services. Everything happened according to our wishes and she went above and beyond by personalizing unexpected tributes. We are grateful to Whitehurst-Powell for making painful experiences somewhat easier.
During one of the most difficult times of our lives, this funeral home provided exceptional care, compassion, and professionalism. Tara was absolutely amazing as the general manager. From the very beginning, she guided us with calm reassurance, kindness, and genuine empathy.
Tara handled every detail with grace and respect, making sure my family member was honored beautifully and that our family felt supported every step of the way. She was attentive, patient, and truly went above and beyond to ease our burden during an incredibly painful time.

From our first visit, this funeral home was compassionate and welcoming. Throughout the entire process, Tara was very in-depth and left no questions unanswered, you could truly tell she wanted to help in any way she could. They went above and beyond to make sure we didn’t feel even more overwhelmed during such a difficult time.
During my mother-in-law’s viewing, we were invited to share stories about her, which brought warmth and moments of comfort into an otherwise sad room. It meant more to us than we can express. We truly appreciate everything they have done for our family.
