My home has a 25 year old concrete Spanish barrel tile roof. A lot of the tiles had cracked and come loose over the years. Not ready to have a new roof installed yet, so inquired about having a contractor come out and use the appropriate adhesive to secure all the loose tiles and seal the cracks. Just saw a news story on hurricane damage where they said loose tile from older roofs were a big problem as a hurricane could easily start peeling off the loose roof tiles. Once one tile was blown off, it would make it easier for hurricane winds to get under the exposed tiles and you would begin to lose the roof.
