Leslie and the Coconut Grove Events team were a pleasure to work with and helped make for a perfect wedding. The space is beautiful and the food was wonderful. The florals came out beautifully and the entertainment was a hit. Leslie was accommodating and helped us achieve exactly what we were looking to do. I would certainly recommend the Woman's Club of Coconut Grove!

Hands down a great experience. Everything you need in one place: the food was DELICIOUS, the staff was GREAT with guests and it didn't hurt that the weather that night ended up being PERFECT. Highly recommend this venue and look forward to working with them again in the future!

I have to say my experience at the Women’s Club of Coconut Grove was truly amazing. I had been looking for a venue and when I came around this one it worked perfect for me. Leslie made sure from the beginning to the end to make my wedding day an unforgettable one. Always available to answer my questions something you don’t find out there easily. She tried helping till the very end. Thanks so much Leslie for making our day a very special one for us and all those that assisted our wedding day

We put our full trust into the Coconut Grove Events team's hands for our big day and we couldn't have been happier with the results. My wife loved the fact that everything was in package form and thankfully we booked far in advance enough to avoid all the food price hikes that we have been experiencing in today's climate. The location is great and close the the Mutiny Hotel where most of the guests stayed.
Music - Adrian from A-Productions did an amazing job working with us and our Hora Loca vendor to put together an awesome playlist that kept the building dancing all night.
Flowers- Avant Gardens turned our vision for the florals into a reality. All the flowers met our expectations and the center pieces were beautiful.
Food & Beverage- Food was great Timo Restaurant catered the event and all the guests were very happy with their meals. The cocktail hour was wonderful and we kept it simple with beer and wine service during the reception.
The venue was a perfect size for our 60 person wedding and we highly recommend this venue for weddings of that size and to about 100 persons.

Flora McFarlane, the first woman homesteader in the area as well as its earliest school teacher, founded the Housekeeper's Club (today's Woman's Club of Coconut Grove ) in 1891. This was five years before Miami was even a city. It is the oldest civic group in Miami. Aware of the feeling of isolation that pioneer women could feel in the area Flora wanted a place where women could find fellowship and camaraderie. The club was created with the goal of "community uplift," which was achieved through fundraisers that paid for needs in the community. The club motto was "lend a hand". The promoted literacy and education. Their first project was to raise the money in 1894 for a Sunday school which later became the historic Plymouth Congregational Church. The fame of the Housekeeper's Club spread quickly. Within one year of its inception, Harper's Magazine, a major national publication, profiled the club. The Woman's club became the social hub of the city holding concerts, parties, and performances. Through the years they supported important causes like preserving the Everglades, a library, a girls ranch, cancer survivors, teaching children to swim, and canine companions. Over 100 years later the Woman's Club is still going strong and supporting civic activities in the community.
Today you can rent the historic Woman's Club for weddings and private events. The building was designed by Floridas first registered architect Walter de Gamo and it was completed in 1921. The building is made of stucco, oolithic limestone, concrete, and stone. It is a rectangular shape with a gable roof and wrap around porch. In 1975 it was added to the United States national Register of Historic Places. The club has been renovated and special occasions can be booked through CG entertainment. On the night I went by a wedding was being held so I didn't get a chance to look inside but they have extensive pictures on their website. The club looks like a lovely and historic venue to hold a special event. An added bonus is that you can cross the street to get pictures along the water as well.

Fabulous Venue Coconut Grove Events coordinated and managed my daughter's wedding reception at the Historic Woman's Club of Coconut Grove. The guests raved about the delish food, and the decor package we selected looked perfect. We had a small gathering around 80 people. To start the festivities off drinks were served on the portico while the wedding party completed the photos. After dinner the DJ took the stage and the dancing started. This intimate venue was dream come true. Rudy and Leslie Rowe made sure we were completely relaxed and handled all the details during the reception allowing us the luxury of being a guest instead of a stressed out host and hostess. We Highly recommend Coconut Grove Events and especially the venue at the Woman's Club of Coconut Grove.

If you are ever considering doing a party there, please do not do it. Don’t get me wrong, my wedding was great, we all had a great time, but not because of the venue planner, Leslie. My mom and my mother in law had to plan everything themselves, get the flowers themselves, everything was done by them. My mom was insistently disrespected by the vendors Leslie try to get us to contract. Leslie is also very unorganized person and will tell you one thing and will do another because she apparently “thought” we chose one thing and “lost” the paper where she wrote her notes to see if she was actually in the wrong or not. She’s lies constantly about the costs of everything, and a lot of things end up being much more than she had said they’d cost. It’s extremely infuriating and sad to see your parent struggle to give you a great wedding and not getting the proper and decent help they deserve, and that was never delivered. So, do yourselves a favor, if you end up doing a party there, contract your own party planner or do not do it there at all.
