“They broke my sidewalk! Then replaced it!The crew could have ghosted me and left me with a yard full of lumber and a sidewalk to fix, but they came back to finish the job and paid to have the sidewalk repaired.I was referred to C&H and a couple of other tree/stump removal companies when I needed to get my full-grown live oak tree removed. C&H came in at the middle of the quotes and ended up out-bidding the competition which was a relief because CJ seemed much more experienced and professional than the one-man-crew with the lower initial bid. C&H is also insured, which I’m not sure the other company was.CJ and his crew showed up punctually and consistently and they conducted themselves professionally. This job turned out to be a much bigger job than anticipated and they ended up coming back twice to finish up; once to cut and haul more of the massive tree, and once to do the stump grinding.When the tree came down, it came down hard on the sidewalk in front of my house because CJ was trying to avoid dropping the tree on my water line (a few feet from the base of the tree). Two sections of sidewalk were smashed up pretty badly but the water line was untouched.CJ reassured me that he had a connection in the concrete business and that he would be paying to have them come replace the sidewalk. The concrete crew was able to replace the two damaged sections of sidewalk the same day that the stump was ground, less than a week from the start of the project.After the first day of the job, I was left with sections of tree trunk all over the yard and a damaged sidewalk. My neighbors warned me that—in Florida—contractors often pocket whatever partial payment that they can get and ghost their clients if a job goes south. That would have been a nightmare for me, but C&H Stump Removal operates with honor and integrity so they finished the job properly.Overall working with C&H was a good experience.
