Al, the owner, claims to be honest. But he’s FAR FROM HONEST. His company,Consumer Roofing, sent me a $386.11 bill for 20 minutes of work. When asked, Al said he charged 2 hours of work at $150/hr plus materials. All they did was glue 2 tiles back on my roof & push a soffit back in place from Hurricane Ian damage. It took less than 20 minutes from the time 1 guy arrived until he pulled away in his truck (I watched the whole time). Al claims it includes travel. According to Google, it’s 24 minutes from their shop to my house. Here’s the math: 24 min x 2 + 20 min work = 68 minutes or 1.13 hours. 1.13 hrs x $150/hr = $170. We had Al do our roof and it was finished in January 2020. We were only there for a few weeks and all seemed fine. When we now came back this Winter and had some heavy rainfall beginning of March, I noticed that on one side of the roof, near the entrance, the water was being channeled along the wall, due to the location of the seam on the metal roof. The water came down so fast and heavy that even the large guard put in on the gutter could not prevent it from spilling over and could not handle the amount of water.
